    Stay at The Arundell

    Our hotel has 22 bedrooms, a 3 bedroom self catering cottage and a 2 bedroom self catering cottage. The rooms are all simple, comfortable and relaxed. We are very dog-friendly with dogs welcome to stay in our Coach House rooms and our heated kennels.

    Our location is perfect for exploring Devon and Cornwall, from sandy beaches to muddy Dartmoor walks. Our heated Wader Room is perfect for waders, wet coats and boots and even wetsuits.

    Relax and completely switch off in our home from home.  Our fireside library is for boardgames, cards, reading or chatting.  Our rooms all have a bluetooth Roberts Radio and Wifi instead of a television.   The perfect antidote to a busy day exploring.   

    Make time for breakfast, which is included in the room rate. Our bread, granola, jam and marmalade are all prepared here in The Arundell kitchen.  All rooms include shampoo and bodywash from Faith In Nature and soap from the Dartmoor Soap Company.

    We do require a 25% deposit to secure a room booking and for a full refund, we require 72 hours notice of cancellation.

    We have rooms to suit all. We recommend that the hotel is most suitable for children 4+.

    Weekend Getaway
    Offer

    Kick the dust off your heels and take advantage of our fabulous Weekend Getaway Offer. Our two night break, includes dinner, bed and breakfast for two people with a picnic from our Deli included. Book a cycle ride on the Granite Trail from the ruins of Okehampton Castle to the stunning Lydford Gorge. Take in the austere beauty of Dartmoor on horseback. Head out to the North Cornwall coast for a wild clifftop walk or wake up early for wild fishing in our clear water lake. Finally, book one of our guides and learn to fish on our beautiful rivers.

    The offer is for our Coach House, Church Cottage and Cosy Kingsize rooms for two people for two nights and must be booked for a Friday and Saturday night. Dinner is for two people for two nights and includes two courses and the picnic lunch is for two people on one day. £30 supplement for an upgrade to a Superior room. £50 supplement for an upgrade to a Suite.

    • Fishing tackle & equipment can be added to your booking -  all the essentials for your stay can be hired from our Cockpit fishing shop (open daily from 9am) - or visit out online shop before you get to us to stock up.

    The thirteen bedrooms in the old part of the hotel. 

    We have a range of rooms available including the Superking Suite, Superior Kingsize, Cosy Kingsize, Cosy King/ Twin and Cosy Double rooms. 

    Some with garden views and other roadside. 

    All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, with bath and shower, and all our rooms have tea, coffee and hairdryers. All rooms are television free and instead each one comes with its own bluetooth Roberts Radios.

    The rooms include high quality amenities from Floris, made in Britain, using the finest essential oils and essences gathered from around the world. 

    The room rate includes breakfast the next morning, which is an event of its own. Choose from our selection of Arundell jams and marmalade, granola or muesli, which are all made in The Arundell kitchen. As well as the traditional Full English, the menu includes our signature dish, which is Eggs Royale made with smoked trout caught in our lake and smoked in our kitchen.

    We also offer a Picnic and Hamper service, so you can enjoy a day exploring with one of our Deli Picnics, just pre-order the day before (pre-4pm)

    Coach House

    We have eight Coach House rooms, all of which are dog-friendly. All Coach House rooms have lovely garden views, their own entrance with separate access to the courtyard. They are simple yet comfortable rooms. 

    We have a range of rooms available including the Kingsize, King/ Twin and Cosy Double rooms.

    The Coach House rooms are a particular favourite for shooting and fishing parties.  

    All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, with bath and shower, and all our rooms have tea, coffee and hairdryers. All rooms are television free and instead each one comes with its own bluetooth Roberts Radios.

    Our little Fishing Cottage adjoining the hotel is fantastic for a family or a group of friends. It has two bedrooms, one is a twin and one a double, and one bathroom, which has a bath with a shower in it. The small sitting room has an open fire and the kitchen/dining room has everything you need for self-catering. The cottage comes with all the amenities of the hotel. 

    You are on the doorstep of our Deli, that stocks fantastic local produce, fresh bread, croissants, granola, freshly prepared sandwiches, salads as well as larder products lovingly made by The Arundell Kitchen. 

    You are also able to book breakfast, lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant, just pop in to reception to book. 

    Ideal for our night fishing guests and for those who would like to be a little more self-sufficient.

    Church Cottage

    Our four rooms in Church Cottage, opposite the main hotel are perfect for our business guests or those looking for a bit more space. 

    Tucked away in a separate building across the road from the hotel, our four Church Cottage rooms are quiet and spacious. All the rooms have fast Wifi, a desk area, a small dining area and a television.

    The separate location makes it perfect for late arrivals and early departures.

    You are able to add breakfast to your booking, which is an event of its own. Choose from our selection of Arundell jams and marmalade, granola or muesli, which are all made in The Arundell kitchen.     Fireside library

    Our fireside library sitting room

    The Arundell has a most comprehensive library collection comprising books on fishing and shooting collected over the past 100 years, covering all aspects of the sport. Guests can immerse themselves in a book fireside library with a drink from our bar, or retreat to their rooms with a copy for the night. Certain books can be taken out on loan from the library with our permission.

    We would also welcome donations of books to our library to expand the collection.
