What’s On at the Arundell

Escape to Devon's best kept secret & explore the breathtaking beauty of Dartmoor

Walking, fishing, cycling & watersports

West Devon is one of England’s best kept secrets.  An area of outstanding natural beauty with an abundance of fantastic outdoor activities, with the beaches of Devon & Cornwall close by.

The Tamar Valley  is stunning, the river and its tributaries meandering through rolling green hills, perfect for fly fishing, walking and for cycling.  Nearby Tavistock is an ancient stannary & market town and a world-heritage site.

The Wolf Valley boasts Roadford Lake, one of the biggest inland water bodies in the South West, surrounded by nature trails, footpaths and off-road cycling routes.  Windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and other watersports are all available.

Just a few miles east lies the breath-taking landscape of Dartmoor. The wide-open rolling moorland extends for 365 sq miles with deep river valleys cutting through heathland and craggy granite tors. It is tranquil, remote and stunning. Just a few miles east

The Arundell are delighted to offer their bespoke Dartmoor walking experiences, with highly qualified and knowledgeable guides.  The walks offer an insight into some of this incredible landscape, its history, flora & fauna.

We are also able to organise horse riding on the moors through Cholwell Riding Stables, and organise bicycle hire for a trip along the Granite Way.

It is advisable to book activities in advance of your visit, so please do email us on bookings@thearundell.com and we’ll be very happy to assist.
